I think if your computers got the power to run a memory-heavy browser like Firefox, you should run it, but if your on a laptop or an older model computer, I can see why you shouldn't be running Chrome.
I tried installing Chrome a few weeks back on my XP machine and it kept hanging at around 70% on the install, so I was never able to really try it out.
Internet Explorer is garbage, but because it still does control a majority of the internet market share, it makes web developers (like me) have a run for there money, because you have to fix so many Javascript and HTML bugs just because IE6 and even IE7 can't decode them properly.
Also, I'd like to make an honorable mention to Opera. Opera is very powerful, light-weight and useful. Its basically a mix between Firefox and Chrome, with its light-weight and speed but ability to run themes and plugins. Its not the "best of both worlds" but its pretty good.
Firefox is still my pick.
